How to create layered, bug and glitch avatars

The community uses terms such as "bug avatar", "glitch avatar" and "layered avatar" for unconventional looks. This guide covers arranging clothing across slots and trying visibility presets.

  • Load your .avatar file into the editor.
  • Use the slot sidebar to arrange one item per slot. You can drag items between slots, and L/R slots (Glove L/R, Bracelet L/R) are independent, which already allows combinations the game UI does not offer.
  • Control what shows through with the hider values (the numbered buttons under an item): the numbered labels select visibility presets. Their effect varies by item, so inspect the exported outfit in the game.
  • Fine-tune each piece in the material editor: base color, metallic and glow values (0–5, with item-dependent effects) and materials or prints on items that support them.
  • Save Changes downloads the edited .avatar file. Check the outfit in 3DXChat because slot combinations can behave differently in the game.

What the editor cannot do: it edits the data inside the avatar file — items, layers, slots, colors and the game's own settings. It cannot add new meshes, invent items the game does not have, or provide a body-shape editor.

Ready to try it? The editor is free, runs in the browser and needs no account.
