How to edit a 3DXChat .avatar file in the browser

Editing a 3DXChat avatar file takes three steps and uses a browser interface with server-side file processing — no desktop app or account required.

  • Drop your .avatar file into the upload zone on the start page (or click to browse); the editor opens automatically. The file is decrypted on the server and parsed into editable data. The decryption route processes the file in memory. The statistics service separately receives decrypted data and stores extracted configuration and hashes; see the Privacy Policy.
  • Edit what you want to change: equip items per slot, move items between slots, adjust colors, metallic, glow, materials and supported prints in the material editor, and control layering with the hider values.
  • Click "Save Changes" to export. The edited data is re-encrypted on the server and offered as an .avatar download with an _edited filename. Keep a backup and check the result in 3DXChat; your browser controls the download destination.

Good to know: the gender marker (female/male) is detected from the loaded avatar data and cannot be changed by the editor.

Ready to try it? The editor is free, runs in the browser and needs no account.
